Rococo's Impressions
Vincent Van Gogh’s "Sower" from 1888 is a powerful depiction of agrarian life, rendered with Van Gogh’s characteristic emotional intensity and vibrant color palette. The sower, a timeless symbol of labor and renewal, is bathed in a golden light that contrasts sharply with the rich, dark earth. This juxtaposition highlights the artist’s deep connection to the land and his empathy for the working class.
In my recreation of "Sower" on our luxury wood eyewear, I aim to preserve Van Gogh’s dynamic brushstrokes and bold use of color. The texture of the wood enhances the painting’s earthy tones and adds a unique depth to the piece. By translating Van Gogh’s vision into a wearable format, I hope to capture the essence of his message about the beauty and dignity of labor.
